The Brief, Romantic, Natural & Deeply Personal

Tom & Alex wanted their wedding flowers to celebrate both the beauty of the Cotswolds and the importance of the locations they had chosen. The ceremony took place in the village church, which held special meaning for the bride's family, while the reception was hosted in a marquee within the grounds of her parents' home.

The brief centred around creating a relaxed English meadow aesthetic with plenty of texture and movement. Icelandic poppies were one of the bride's favourite flowers, but as they were no longer in season, we worked closely together to develop an alternative that captured the same spirit while remaining true to the time of year.

Every design decision was guided by the setting, the season and the atmosphere the couple wanted their guests to experience.

Seasonal British Flowers With An English Meadow Feel

Working with seasonal flowers is an important part of our design philosophy. Rather than sourcing blooms that were past their natural season, we recreated the look and character the couple loved using carefully chosen alternatives.

Designing A Church & Marquee That Felt Effortlessly Connected

Although the church and reception tent were very different spaces, they were designed to feel part of one cohesive celebration.

Inside the church, floral meadows and the ceremony arch enhanced the historic architecture without overwhelming it, creating a setting that felt both elegant and deeply personal.

For the reception, our attention shifted upwards.

Standout Detail, Suspended Floral Clouds

One of the defining features of the marquee was a collection of suspended floral clouds surrounding beautifully crafted rattan chandeliers.

These installations softened the interior of the tent, adding height, movement and visual interest while creating an atmosphere that felt contemporary yet unmistakably English.

The combination of natural materials, seasonal flowers and carefully considered lighting transformed the marquee into an immersive dining space.

Six Months Of Planning For One Beautiful Day

While the installation itself took just one day to complete, the project represented six months of collaboration between our studio and the couple.

Throughout the planning process we refined floral samples, discussed colour palettes and developed designs that reflected the venue, the season and the overall style of the wedding.

This collaborative approach allows every wedding to develop naturally, ensuring the finished result feels personal rather than repeated.

The Final Result

From the church ceremony through to the evening celebration beneath the marquee, the floral design captured exactly what Tom & Alex had hoped for.

The bridal bouquets reflected the soft English meadow aesthetic, the ceremony flowers honoured the significance of the village church and the suspended floral installations created a memorable centrepiece for the reception.

The couple were delighted with every element of the design, particularly the way the flowers balanced modern styling with the timeless character of the English countryside.
